What:
171 Cedar Arts Center invites artists to submit work for consideration in our upcoming exhibition, Freedom. Submission should reflect the theme of Freedom, as this exhibition will examine the concept of freedom from a variety of perspectives.

Artists are invited to submit work that speaks to a specific issue regarding freedom, or contributes to the wider discussion of the meaning of freedom in today’s world. 2D, 3D, Video/Film/New Media/Interactive, and Installation work are eligible.

A panel of regional artists, curators, and gallerists will adjudicate. Interested artists may submit up to three (3) images for consideration (unless submitting time-based work – please see below). Work should have been created within the last two years. Please follow these instructions to enter via email:

  • Include FREEDOM in the subject line and address it to Lynn.Rhoda@gmail.com
  • Include a digital image of each piece, in JPEG format, no larger than 600 x 800 pixels, resolved at 72 ppi. Title images as follows: Lastname_Firstname_#1.jpg, etc.
  • In the body of the email, include the title, medium and size of each piece of artwork, creation date, and price (a 25% commission will be retained on all sold work) or insurance value (if the work is not for sale). The list should correspond to image numbers (see above).
  • If submitting Video/Film/New Media/Interactive work, please submit up to three stills (formatted per the above) and provide a URL for viewing. Please do not email time-based or interactive files.
