Lynne Wagner

LYNNE WAGNER has had a fascination with pottery dating back to 1962 when she became involved in the reestablishment of a disused pottery studio in Stellenbosch, South Africa. In the late 1960s she ran a group of private pottery schools in Natal. Ms. Wagner is a graduate of the Johannesburg School of Art under the tutelage of Hans Boyum. She is the co-author, with Garth Clark, of Potter’s of Southern Africa. In 1974, Ms. Wagner embarked on a study tour of Europe which culminated in the establishment of her company, Ceramic Arts Library, which was founded in 1978, and sells historical slide programs and out-of-print books. She is a member of the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts. Ms Wagner joined the faculty of 171 in 1999 and in 2002 was named Ceramics Coordinator.
