Kenneth Cobb

Kenneth Cobb is an Instructor of Art at Mansfield University in Pennsylvania, teaching courses in Drawing, Painting, Graphic Design and Gallery Management. Ken was born and raised in the Rochester area of New York. He received his BFA in Painting and Computer Art from Bowling Green State University in Ohio and his MFA in Studio Art from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale (SIUC) with a concentration in Painting. In 1999, Ken studied Northern Renaissance panting at the Atelier Neo Medici, in Monflanquin, France. Ken is a Realism based artist, as he applies it to the traditional Still Life, Landscape, and Figurative genres, often emphasizing color development and its potential affect for the viewer through bold usage. Working mainly in oils, Ken prefers the luminous qualities that transparent glazes in the layering process can offer. Ken also specializes in the use of drawing media such as charcoal and soft pastels, seeing drawing as the foundational beginning for all that follows in any artworks development.
