Where is the Fall Schedule?

Where are Dance Classes?
Continuing Students: 
You should have received a dance recommendation this summer. Use the information on this form to register your child for the appropriate class. If you prefer, come in with your registration form, and we will process it in person. Payment is required at time of registration. If your child has a scheduling conflict, let us know and we will work with instructors t
o place your child in another level appropriate class.

New Students:
Welcome! We love new dancers of all experience levels and body types! E-mail us at
info@171cedarts.org with your child's previous dance experience and age. No experience is okay! We will use this info to place your child in an appropriate level class.

How do I register for classes?

Youth/Teen

Teen Painting

 (Year-round)

Learn the basics of the art and craft of painting with this introductory class to acrylic painting. Learn about the tools and materials, choose and use different types of brushes, practice making a tonal sketch, experiment with basic color mixing and work from a still life and photograph to experience the joy of painting! This class is a perfect pre-requisite for 171's ongoing oil painting classes, and all materials are provided.

Oil Painting with Dustin Boutwell

 (Continuing - Advanced Level)

Offered year-round, this class is a favorite among beginning and continuing painting students alike. Dustin Boutwell combines demonstrations with ample individualized instruction, helping each student achieve his or her goals by moving through the classroom to answer questions, problem solve and offer thoughtful critique.  Students choose and supply their own subject matter; all other materials provided.

If you are unable to attend class regularly, Drop-In Cards are available for purchase. Each card grants 4 classes to any of the AM or PM Monday classes. Simply stop by the desk, and have them sign your card. Cards may be used year-round.

Still Life in Oil with Marc Rubin

 (Continuing - Advanced Level)

 

Marc Rubin's approach to painting starts with placing many thin layers of paint and medium to create and amazing illusion of realism. From breathing exercises to brush work, Marc shares the techniques he uses when working through the technical and mental challenges painters face in composing and capturing convincing still life paintings.
