2014 Culinary Class Series: From My Mother's (Aunt's/Grandmother's/Wife's) Kitchen
2014 marks the 100th anniversary of Mother's Day, and this year's series celebrates the skills, recipes, rituals and memories we inherit from our childhood kitchens.
From the ethnic cuisines they were raised with to stories of culinary adventurousness and discovery, each of this season's chefs raise a glass to all of the gifts their mothers -- and other influential women -- have brought to the table. Join us Saturday mornings this February through May to taste, learn and be inspired.
Each of our demonstration-style classes is limited to 25 students and fills quickly; reserve your spot today!

Drake House Studio Theater
Need something a bit different – but doable? You’ve come to the right place. Chef Evan’s menu is fun to cook and fun to eat. In the spirit of a great restaurant, he starts with an Amuse Bouche – a Baked Wonton with a Central American Slaw and Honduran Butter (the latter being a compound butter made with a combination of cheeses); a Cuban White Bean Soup with Greens; Guava and Cheese Empanadas with Pickled Red Onion; Vegetable and Mushroom Tamales with Mom’s Orange Rice and Beans and a Spicy Tex-Mex Tomato Sauce. For dessert, there’s fresh pineapple (broiled or plain), to balance the many complex tastes of the class’s main dishes. Replicate this menu and you can invite your vegetarian friends to dine, although any food lover would love this combination of dishes.
